Baba Ramdev makes it to Bollywood!

Baba Ramdev makes it to Bollywood!

Wondering who will play the title role in this film? We did some homework for you

The folks running B-town seem to watch the news – they jump on to any new bandwagon that could bring in audiences. This time around, it’s Baba Ramdev, the guru last seen wearing a lady’s salwar kurta and running from police at the Ramlila ground in Delhi. If he is making headlines, he should set the BO registers ringing madly, is the logic the filmi types use. And we hear that Sanjay Dutt will be playing Baba R in a film based on the recent events, to be directed by his friend Mani Shankar. Coincidentally, Sanjay Dutt is fondly known as ‘Baba’ in Bollywood. We were left wondering who else in Bollywood could possibly do justice to a role like this one. The brainstorming left us looking no less twisted and hopelessly entangled than the guru in one of his yoga postures , but we somehow zeroed down on three B-town actors who could pull it off with some degree of conviction. While we weren’t totally sure about Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt (mainly due to their extreme yoga-incompatible physiques), we all almost unanimously agreed on Nana Patekar. Not only are his oratory skills of a legendary stature, he also has a fit body that can be twisted and turned to convince the audience that he is, of course, the real (albeit filmi) deal. Who do you think can play Baba Ramdev convincingly enough?
