PC carries off this ‘80s-style number with great attitude
Item songs do not have to be about skimpy clothes or vulgar lyrics. The sensuality in these numbers can come through the attitude of the star and how she carries off the dance movements. In the much-talked about Shootout At Wadala item song Babli badmaash, Priyanka Chopra proves that you just got to have the right attitude!
Anu Malik comes back to music direction after a long gap and must say he has managed to create a groovy track. He gets the tone and sounds of the 1980s quite right – with the clapping of hands and horns! We just had one issue with the track. What’s with the firing guns from the breasts step? Guess choreographer Ahmed Khan was just trying to be cheeky. Surely, better dance moves would have lifted the number a couple of notches higher. Not the best item song, but yes, definitely one of the most stylish!
