The world’s richest man met the Bollywood superstar and spoke at length about fighting diseases, improving sanitation and issues related to the country’s development
The world’s richest man who has pledged to give away 95% of his wealth to charity had expressed his desire to meet one of India’s greatest superstars, Aamir Khan. So when the two intelligent minds – Microsoft Founder Bill Gates and Bollywood’s ‘thinking’ actor met and had a one-on-one, it was definitely not about music, movies and masti. The topic took a more serious overtone as the duo focused on the development issues of the country, diseases, sanitation and toilet problems – something that not many acknowledge, let alone accept and then find a solution!
Gates had said on his blog a couple of days ago, “I want to hear about his TV show, Satyamev Jayate (Truth Alone Prevails), which is shining a light on some critical issues facing India. And maybe, if I’m lucky, he’ll show me a few dance moves.” And on day one of his visit to India, Gates got to meet Aamir as he posted, “Talking toilets with Bollywood star Aamir Khan, discussing how satellites help fight disease.”
