The Yuvvraaj director proudly announced that he will be directing a masala entertainer with Salman in 2014
Subhash Ghai was born on January 24, 1945. Continuing his customary practice of making grand movie announcements on his birthday every year, the 67-year-old filmmaker this year too surprised many with his decision to direct a film with the Dabangg 2 actor Salman Khan, which he intends to start shooting early next year.
The “action-packed masala entertainer,” as Ghai calls it, will be his first directorial project since Yuvvraaj. “I have a commitment with Salman to start a film from January 2014, which I will be directing. This year, I’m caught up with another movie Kaanchi and Salman is also busy. I have the script and the star. So there shouldn’t be a problem,” informed the birthday boy ecstatically.
It’s a known fact that Ghai’s relation with his Yuvvraaj actor had gone sour after their last romantic movie, also starring Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, failed miserably at the box office. Considering the new development, it seems the actor-director duo have decided to bury the hatchet and let bygones be bygones.
The excited filmmaker has a lot going for him this year. He’s not only looking forward to producing and directing Kaanchi starring Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty, but also has a film on the anvil featuring all the three Deols – Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol and Apna Sapna Money Money 2. We wish Mr Ghai all the very best and a very happy birthday!
