With two Abhisheks in the poster and one Ajay Devgn, we wonder…

The poster of Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgn’s next film, Bol Bachchan, is out. And it sure has invoked our curiosity. Abhishek appears in the poster in two different looks – one with a moustache and one without. All you ardent Bollywood fans will know that a moustache is the clichéd filmi way to differentiate between two characters who look alike. Amitabh Bachchan did it in Mahaan, Rajesh Khanna did it in Sachcha Jhootha and Hrishikesh Mukherjee lampooned it in Gol Maal. It’s no surprise that Rohit Shetty has decided to take the same route for his comedy. After all, he has admitted that BB is heavily inspired from the Amol Palekar-Utpal Dutt film. If he can borrow titles and ideas, he can borrow clichés too, right? It’s also possible that he’s been inspired to the extent of giving Abhishek two different looks and not two characters. The buzz doing the rounds is that Abhishek’s clean shaven look might be inspired from Dostana, with his character actually being gay and not just pretending to be. The colourful shirt and his pose are dead giveaways, insist gossip mongers.

Abhishek’s co-star Ajay Devgn seems to be struck by nostalgia. His black outfit is strikingly similar to the one he wore in Kaal. He should just hope that this film doesn’t share Kaal’s fate! Anyway, the poster is interesting enough, though it doesn’t create the impact that Ek Tha Tiger’s poster does. What do you think?
