The actor turns 54 today
Born on December 2, 1959, Boman Irani who is one of the finest actors of Bollywood was a photographer till he started with theatre and films. Boman who is a professional photographer pursued photography from 1987 – 1989. He also shot the portfolio of Sanaya Irani who shot to fame with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon on Star Plus.
After photography, Irani took up acting and his earliest theatrical appearance was in Roshni where he played a cameo at the Regional Theatre in Versova. He followed this up with serials like Family Ties and Mahatma vs Gandhi, playing Gandhi after the role was turned down by Darshan Jariwala. Irani’s most popular play has been I am not Bajirao which ran for 10 years. Apart from theatre and films, Boman also did a lot of advertisements like Fanta, Ceat and Krackjack biscuits.After this, Boman moved to films in 2000. He garnered a lot of praise for his roles in Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai. He won a lot of awards for this as well as his role in 3 Idiots‘. Irani is best known for his comic timing in films like Main Hoon Na, Dostana, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Waqt: The Race Against Time, No Entry, Housefull, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Housefull 2 and Cocktail amongst others.
