Bombay Velvet’s music to have a Sri Lankan tadka!

Apart from Ranbir and Anushka, there is one more thing to look forward to in the film…

Amit Trivedi who has made some gorgeous music for films like Kai Po Che! and Lootera will be carving out the melodies for Anurag Kashyap’s much-awaited Bombay Velvet. We hear that the music composer will be recording a song with Sri Lanka’s Navy band for the film. The Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma starrer has being shot in a special studio in Sri Lanka and the actors’ looks from the film have been shrouded from the eyes of the media so far.

Amit Trivedi known for his distinct, at times folksy kind of music will try to capture the essence of Sri lanka through the music in this song and that is why he has decided to record a number with the navy band there. A source states, “Amit wanted to record a track with live orchestra, and since they were shooting in Sri Lanka, he decided to include the Sri Lanka Navy Band. It was an impromptu decision to add this number to the album as most of the songs were already recorded.”

It wasn’t cakewalk for the makers of the film to get the requisite permissions for the song to happen, but after a tedious wait, Amit was allowed to record the track with the band. The music director might just tap in on the opportunity and ask the band to record more than one song and some parts of the film’s background score as well.

We can’t wait for Bombay Velvet’s music release, what about you peeps?
