Box office collection: Sunny Leone’s Ragini MMS 2 rakes in over Rs 20 crore in the opening weekend!

Looks like Ms Leone’s sexy avatar has worked wonders for Ekta Kapoor’s latest venture Ragini MMS 2. The horrex film not only fared well at the single screens but also was a crowd puller at the multiplexes

Sunny Leone got the cash registers ringing at the box office this weekend and Ragini MMS 2 has sent Ekta Kapoor smiling to the banks. Well, the Jackpot babe is indeed making her presence felt in Bollywood and at the box office as well. After kicking off to a great start on Friday, the sequel of Ragini MMS continued a good run at the ticket windows over the weekend too. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Ragini MMS 2 Fri 8.43 cr, Sat 7.29 cr, Sun 8.78 cr. Total: Rs 24.5 cr nett. India biz. Ragini MMS 2 *opening weekend* Rs 24.5 cr nett. India biz. Extraordinary!” Though Kangana Ranaut’s Queen is still going steady at the box office, Sunny’s Ragini MMS 2 managed to attract the movie goers. The Jism 2 starlet is surely here to stay it seems!

According to Boxofficeindia, “Ragini MMS 2 had a good first weekend of around 23.25 crore nett. The film had to contend with the cricket matches over the three days which probably hit the film for around 10% business in the three days. The film did very well at single screens but city multiplexes saw limited appreciation as they did not have a good trend over the weekend.”

In the coming weekend, collections of Sunny Leone’s film could suffer as Salman Khan backed O Teri, Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s production debut Dishkiyaoon and Jaccky Bhagnani starrer political drama Youngistaan are set to hit the theatres. So entering the coveted Rs 100 crore club would be tough run for Sunny’s film. However, wethinks the Baby doll gal should be really happy with the response her film has received so far. After all, the adult star turned Bollywood actor has come long way in B-town, hai na?Subscribe to me on YouTube
