Boxer Vijender Singh to make his Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s Fugly!

Besides Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar too likes to encourage new talent in Bollywood. The khiladi of Bollywood has decided to launch the real-life khiladi into the industry with his film Fugly, to be directed by Kabir Sadanand…

Vijender Singh, the former world number one middleweight boxer, impressed many with his boxing skills, all the way to the Olympics. And now the strapping six-footer is ready to dazzle on the silver screen too. The Indian boxer shares a good rapport with Akshay Kumar – which isn’t surprising, since both of them share a passion for action and fitness. Vijender has been planning to make his Bollywood debut for a long time now, but was waiting for the right script to come along. After being in touch with Akki for months, things came together and the boxer finally signed on the dotted line.

Not long ago, the young Singh made it to the headlines for all the wrong reasons; he was embroiled in a drug case and was finally cleared after various tests were done. Now that Vijender has signed his first Bollywood flick, the lad from Bhiwani has something good and new to look forward to. Fugly is likely to go on the floors in August and we hear that Vijender will play a boxer in the film as well.

With action in his blood, good looks, a huge female fan following and a mentor like Akshay, wethinks Vijender can certainly make a knock-out debut in Bollywood! Don’t you?
