Can Aamir Khan be the filmi face of Indian cricket?

He refused to pay tax and staged a revolt against the mighty British government almost a decade ago in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Lagaan. But that wasn’t the only film where Aamir endorsed the game we Indians are so passionate about. As the season of cricketainment begins today with IPL 6, we revisit (and rename) the Hindi films in which the contest between the wood and the leather was the central plot. Take a look!

It’s that time of the year when cricketainment rules your idiot boxes. The Indian Premier League season 6 aka IPL will have you gripped for the next two months. We are all set to follow the new season with more excitement, but without sacrificing on our regular dose of films. And talking of movies, we decide to take a look at some Hindi flicks where cricket was used as the central idea. We also convert these titles into English (or English to Hindi) word-for-word to find out exactly gets lost in translation…
