With both of them turning actors, we sure hope so!

Mika and Shaan have decided to step out of their comfort zone and do something they’ve never done before – act! The singers have been signed on to play pivotal roles in Balwinder Singh… Famous Ho Gaya! It’s a comedy being helmed by Sunil Agnihotri and the director says the two singers are perfect for the roles. Now where have we heard that before? Ah yes! When it was announced that Sonu Nigam will star in Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani and then again, when he bagged the male lead role in Love In Nepal. Both of them flopped, as did his other ventures. Oh, and how can we forget Aap Kaa Surroor – The Real Luv Story? That film marked the acting debut of highly successful singer-cum-music director Himesh Reshammiya. Surprisingly, it did good business but his second film Karzzzz failed to do so. It had a good opening but was unable to sustain it. His subsequent releases Radio and Kajraare (which was released only in one theatre) also flopped.

We know we can’t dismiss Mika and Shaan’s histrionic skills just because Sonu and Himesh didn’t make it as actors. After all, Kishore Kumar was a very good actor and singer. But somehow hearing about Mika and Shaan dancing to their own songs makes us giggle rather than take them seriously. What about you?
