CHAKRAVYUH song: Abhay Deol turns desi in Mehangai

The Shanghai actor ditches his urban avatar for a desi gamcha in the song from his latest film Chakravyuh

From Dev.D – where he wore his own clothes in the film – to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, where he sported some of the slickest fabrics, Abhay Deol is known for his urban style and characters.

But in the song from his latest film Chakravyuh, Abhay chooses the desi avatar. In the latest song from the film, Mehangai, the actor is dressed in a kurta-pyjama and sports some really cool shades over a gamcha. He goes around villages with his band of merry men, spreading awareness about social causes.

Abhay’s character in the film is that of a person who has turned against the system and his good friend and cop Arjun Rampal, and helps the Naxalite rebels. He wears rugged Khakis throughout and is seen ditching his city slicker avatar in favour of Guerilla gear this time! It’s a pity that the song got into controversy for naming the country’s leading industrialists. Though the filmmakers run a rather weak statutory warning saying ‘the lyrics are for representation purposes only’! Lame?

Anyway, we definitely like that you have stuck to your anti-authoritarian, desi-cool guns yet again, Abhay!
