DAVID song Dama dam mast kalandar: Sarika oozes charm in this Rekha Bhardwaj number

Originally sung by Runa Laila, the new version in David manages to transport you into a world you’d never want to leave

Dama dam mast kalandar is shot in Neil Nitin Mukesh aka David’s era of 1970s London. The actor’s changing persona evokes a curiosity that itches to be discovered. The whole black and white feel of the song takes you to a different era. Sarika looks alluring in the attire, lip syncing the qawwali. It’s ideally a song of celebration, but the entire sequence tells a different story.

In between the whole qawwali, the music changes to a techno score with a strong bass –very interesting we say. Rekha Bhardwaj is the perfect choice for this number as she emulates Runa Laila’s voice to the T.

The music by Mikey Mccleary is indeed spell binding, combined with spectacular direction by Bejoy Nambiar – need we say more. All in all, this song from David is a guaranteed hit!
