These two divas sure know how to make heads turn at every event. And they’ve proved it yet again

The recently held Filmfare awards were quite an entertaining affair, as always. Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor had us glued to our seats with their constant chattering and we must say – they’re good hosts. Anyways, what we love the most about awards functions is that, the divas and hunks walking and posing on the red carpet.

So, here’s a list of those who won our hearts and the ones who totally disappointed us. Read on…

Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are topping the list of our favourites. While the Ram-Leela actor was seen in a gold Gaurav Gupta gown, the Ram-Leela item girl had chosen a black Alexander McQueen. DP’s gown was similar to Victoria Hervey’s gown at Golden Globes. However, Deepika’s gown was less revealing as compared to the latter’s. We loved Dippy with the side-swept hair and red pout and well, she really can carry off any outfit! On the other hand, Priyanka’s appearance was simple but yet quite elegant. The faux bob pinned to the side only added to her classy look. Let’s move on to the other babes.

Beautiful (or not) in black: We’d quite a few glam dolls decked up in black. Pallavi Sharda of Besharam fame was seen in a black ABS by Allen Schwartz jersey gown. The dress had a golden zipper detail, which added the much-needed quirky factor to the dress. If only she hadn’t chosen the conventional black ‘coz frankly the Besharam girl looked quite bland. Shruti Haasan too was sporting black. The Ramaiya Vastavaiya girl had opted for a Gauri and Nainika and she looked quite pretty. Ileana D’Cruz too was seen in black. The Barfi! babe was wearing a creation by Emilio Pucci and the boxed sleeves and side-swept her looked far from mesmerising. Not a fan of this look, for sure! Kalki Koechlin was donning a Sabyasachi with black and gold sequin work. We dunno how but Kalki knows how to make men go weak in the knees. Don’t you agree?

Ravishing in red: Richa Chadda, Tammannaah, Sophie Choudry and Sasha Agha were painting the town red with their recent appearances. Richa was seen in a red hot Herve Leger. The ruffles on the lower half of the dress totally spoiled her look and her choice of shoes deserved a big NO! Tam had chosen a Gauri and Nainika gown with a long train and a puffed-up hairdo. Surprisingly, she looked quite enchanting. Sophie was seen in a strapless BCBG gown, teamed with a pair of emerald earring and a box clutch. Good job, girl! Sasha Agha was wearing a done to death red lace dress. Well, we had so many B-town beauties in lace last year that we’re done with lace for a long, long time!

Sexy in six-yards: Amrita Rao and Elli Avram had both draped sarees. Amrita had chosen a peach Payal Singhal saree teamed with a gold and black blouse. While the outfit was pretty, Ms Rao scored an average for the look. We certainly didn’t like the hairdo. Elli had chosen a white sequined saree and had completed her look with pink smeared lips. She looked nice, didn’t she? Dia Mirza’s outfit was close to a saree. Dia had opted for a gold and black Shantanu & Nikhil creation and she was sporting tousled hair. She looked bewitchingly beautiful! Nimrat Kaur chose a cream and red Shehla saree that was earlier worn by fashionista Sonam Kapoor. Unlike Sonam, the The Lunchbox actor let her hair down, which wasn’t quite a wise choice. But otherwise, not a bad appearance.

Other noteworthy appearances: Kajal Aggrawal attended the awards in a metallic Monisha Jaising gown, which she accessorised with matching jewellery from Anmol and a pair of matching shoes. The spaghetti strapped gown certainly was unwelcome on the red carpet. Aditi Rao Hydari chose a Gaurav Gupta Couture gown, similar to the one worn by PeeCee on the coverpage of Verve. No prizes for guessing who wore it better. Hydari was wearing an unnecessary headgear and her shoes were so blingy that our eyes hurt. Neha Dhupia stood out with her choice of outfit. She was wearing a blouse by Payal Singhal and a beautiful skirt by Anju Modi. We liked that outfit, but not on Neha. Soha Ali Khan walked the red carpet in a Ken Ferns strapless number. Umm… For some reason, Soha couldn’t carry off futuristic gown. Huma Qureshi was seen in a blue ruffled gown by Gauri and Nainika. Does she really need to add volume to her already voluptuous body? Certainly not! And that sleek hairdo, she deserves a total thumbs down! Prachi Desai was seen in an embellished gown by Swapnil Shinde. We get it she wants to make it to the headlines by hook or by crook, and wethinks that’s why such a long slit. When she sashayed onstage, she left very lil to the imagination. We liked that outfit but then again, not on this actor. Vaani Kapoor of Shuddh Desi Romance opted for a purple Nikhil Thampi cutout gown. She looked dazzling except for her hairdo.

Overall, wethinks that not everyone did a flawless job like Deepika and Priyanka. Most of these divas left us with at least one area to complain. Anyways, you tell us who was your favourite at Filmfare Awards 2014?
