Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known to put his best foot forward for his films and here’s the latest
A lot is being talked about Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s dream project Bajirao Mastani. The latest we hear is that Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will undergo training in Kalaripayattu and Kathak for the period romance. Reportedly, Bhansali has approached Daksha Sheth to train Deepika and Ranveer in Kalaripayattu, an ancient Indian martial art and one of the oldest fighting systems in existence.
A source was quoted by a daily, “The film has several war sequences and Ranveer’s character will be seen in high risk combats. Bhansali has already finalised locations for these action scenes in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. He is waiting for his cast to return from their respective schedules so they can begin their training with Daksha.
The source added, “Ranveer needs to master the art of striking, kicking, grappling and weaponry so that when he engages in a fight, he can bal ance himself perfectly and perform the scenes with elan.”
Daksha Sheth confirmed saying, “Yes, I’ve been approached by Sanjay Bhansali to train Raveer and Deepika for Bajirao Mastani. I will have more clarity on this offer in a week’s time. It’s an unusual experience for me to work on a film. I’ve done so few of them. I’m really enthusiastic as along with teaching, I’ll also get to learn something new.”
Well, we are sure you remember Deepika and Ranveer’s performance in Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. It’d be great to see the sizzling pair set the screen on fire again with their Kalaripayattu and Kathak performances in Bajirao Mastani. Let’s wait and watch!
