The leggy lass sustained major bruises and swellings on her feet while performing some heavy-duty dance steps for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s costume drama
It’s not easy to be a Sanjay Leela Bhansali heroine, and Deepika Padukone learnt it the hard way. The actress had to perform some high-on-energy Gujarati traditional garba on the colourful sets of Ram Leela a couple of days back. If our feathered friend present on the sets is to be believed, Bhansali, the taskmaster director that he is, is said to have given only one brief to Deepika – to make it as good as Aishwarya Rai’s dance number Dholi taro from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
Dippy had to dance with co-star Ranveer Singh on a rough surface, which resulted in severe swelling and cuts on her feet. The shoot was halted and medical aid was immediately called upon. But guess what? Being the thorough professional that she is, Deepika resumed shooting shortly with a bandage wrapped around her feet.
We aren’t sure about others, but wethinks Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be mighty impressed by Deepika’s spirit and professionalism.
