BIG CBS Love, an Indian English television channel was planning to create a local adaptation of America’s Next Top Model called India’s Next Top Model. Talks were on about bringing the format to India and also some of the top-notch names from B-town were short-listed for Tyra Banks’ (host of ANTP) role on the show. Now Tyra is a famous model and one of the most sought after celebs in the US, so stepping into her shoes is more a prestige issue than an honour for some of the hoity-toity chicks in B-town. So while actors like Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were waiting to nail down this victory and step into Tyra’s designer shoes in India, we presume it came as a huge shock to them when the channel honchos announced that they were going to wait for a while, as their plates are full with a whole lot of other shows at the moment. Meanwhile, as the channel throws a monkey wrench into any plans the babes may have, hosting one of the most famous modelling shows ever still remains a dream for these actors. We wonder, even if the show was to go on air some day, who would really manage to wear the crown on her well-coiffed head? Whoever it will eventually be, seeing the ladies battle it out and then go green with envy would be a great source of entertainment for us!
