Dhanush emulates Raj Kapoor in ‘Raanjhana’

Southern star Dhanush is totally gung ho about his Bollywood debut and is putting every waking hour into preparing for it

The Tamil actor will play a local boy from Varanasi in his next film, Raanjhana, directed by Anand L Rai (of Tanu weds Manu fame). Obviously, playing a North Indian character isn’t going to be a cake walk for the South actor. And Dhanush, who is currently busy wrapping up his projects down south. Rai wants Dhanush to transform into a complete Varanasi lad. And in order to achieve that, the director has given the Kolaveri di star a compilation of Raj Kapoor movies like Awara, Shree 420 and Mera Naam Joker. In an interview to a daily, Rai says, “Dhanush is a very perceptive actor and has the astuteness of a director. Therefore, it’s easy to explain this experiment to him.”

According to the story, Sonam Kapoor plays a Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student, who hails from Varanasi too. With Dhanush trying to emulate Raj Kapoor, any guesses who Sonam can draw her inspiration from?Subscribe to me on YouTube
