Urmila Sharma talks about her role in Aanand L Rai’s recently released movie and working with Rajinikanth’s son-in-law
Urmila Sharma, who has worked in popular shows like Diya Aur Bati Hum, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha and Balika Vadhu, was recently seen playing Dhanush’s mother in Raanjhanaa.
The actor says she was surprised to get a call from director Aanand L Rai, “I was called for the audition, where they explained the scene to me and asked me to think and create my own dialogues. Aanand sir liked my work, I guess that’s why I got the call requesting to be part of the movie on the third day. I was extremely happy.”
So did the South superstar throw his weight around? “In fact, Dhanush has no airs about himself. He is absolutely down to earth in spite of being the Kolaveri di boy, son-in-law of Rajinikanth and being a superstar down South. He is very simple and sweet when he interacts with anyone. He has no starry attitude at all,” says Urmila.
“There was a scene in the movie that I actually loved the most and enjoyed filming, but unfortunately it is edited. Dhanush comes back from the Holi festival and I am bathing him. He is love struck and lost in thought; he suddenly takes my hands and starts dancing with me. It was a lot of fun to do that sequence,” adds the actor.
Raanjhanaa is doing well at the box office and Urmila has received two more offers, but is tight-lipped about it. We wish the actor the best and hope this is only the beginning for her.
