Did Aditya Chopra steal the title of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge from Kirron Kher?

Here’s a Yash Raj trivia for all you Bollywoodlifers. A sneak peak at how the title of the film was finalized

Be it the iconic train scene showing Simran running to catch Raj’s hand, the evergreen dialogue ‘Bade bade deshon mein aisi chioti choti baatein hoti rehti hain( Small things keep happening in big countries)” or the famous song ‘Mehendi lagake rakhna’ which still plays at weddings, everyone knows that Diwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge is a masterpiece and will forever remain one, in the archives of Bollywood.

A film which epitomized romance like no other, this venture by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra is still screened at Maratha Mandir in Mumbai and entertains viewers just like before. Although many of us have seen the movie a dozen times, how much do we really know about it? For instance, Kajol in the song ‘Ruk ja oh dil deewane’ had no idea about being dropped in the end by Shahrukh Khan and her surprised expression is as genuine as it can get. That’s right folks.

Where real life has seen historic tales of Romeo-Juliet and Heer-Ranjha, reel life was abuzz with Raj and Simran’s magic in DDLJ and the saga of this jodi has been hard to compete with by many filmmakers and stars. The title of the movie itself is a rave till date. So how is Kirron Kher even in the picture? Did Aditya Chopra steal the title from her? Well, you will just have to watch…
