Or was it co-producer Dinesh Vijan who suggested the title? Read on to find out…
Saif Ali Khan’s home production Lekar Hum Deewana Dil marks the debut for Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s cousin Armaan Jain. The film seems to be a romcom and marks the directorial debut of Imtiaz Ali’s brother Arif Ali. Grapevine has it that the film was not initially called the same.
Our khabroos inform us that the film, which also marks the Bollywood debut of Deeksha Seth, was initially called Locha.com, but Saif was not happy with the title. Our birdies inform us that when Saif showed the film to Karan Johar, the Koffee with Karan host suggested this title. Talking to a leading daily a source informed, “The film’s script had the title Locha.com. However, throughout the shoot, Saif was not too thrilled about the film’s name. Even after the film was complete, there was great deliberation over it. Later on, when Karan Johar was shown portions of the film, he suggested its current title.”
Armaan had also previously worked with KJo as an assistant director for films like Student Of The Year and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and he too was keen that Karan saw the film first and gave his feedback. Luckily for everyone Karan’s feedback went on to become the title of the film. It is said that the film’s co-producer, Dinesh Vijan had also suggested the same title. “Initially, they toyed with the title Dekho Magar Pyaar Se, but later, they settled for Lekar Hum Deewana Dil as it had a musical ring to it” informed a source to a leading daily.
