The Mausam girl reveals why she avoids interacting with co-stars
At the first promo launch of Mausam, Shahid Kapoor said that he felt honoured to be on Sonam Kapoor’s friends list. The camaraderie between the two was obvious; they kept trying to show off how they were more than just co-stars by constantly chatting, whispering and giggling. Even during the media interactions, they kept teasing and interrupting each other. The two actors seem to have become great friends after stories of their constant tiffs on the sets made the gossip rounds. Well, we’ll have to wait and watch to see how this friendship pans out after the film hits the screen – like so many others (Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan, for instance) it could be all for the sake of good PR, no? Anyway, what’s astonishing is the statement that Sonam made at the event: “I usually don’t interact with any of my heroes. He (Shahid) is one of the first that I have talked to,” said the young actor when asked about her friendship with Shahid. “I don’t usually interact with my co-stars; it’s been a learning experience for me.” Why this kind of statement? Are Ranbir Kapoor and Abhay Deol to blame? Perhaps, yes. Of the six actors that she has worked with, Sonam has claimed to be ‘good friends’ with Imran Khan and now Shahid, while Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol are way too senior to be her buddies. Now the only two actors left off the list are her first hero Ranbir and Aisha co-star Abhay. As we all know, Saawariya and Aisha did not do great at the BO, which hardly allows on-shoot friendships to be sustained. Looks like Sonam is slowly learning to deal with fragile B-town relationships. The sooner the better, dear!
