Did Rani Mukerji take a dig at Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha?

In the song Savaa Dollar from her film Aiyyaa, Rani Mukerji enters the tabooed zone

It’s a well known fact that a few things in Bollywood are a taboo, and are not supposed to be spoken about. Not even the media crosses that line, unless there is good reason to do so. Feisty Rani Mukerji however seems to have crossed the line!

Rani plays a Bollywood buff in Aiyyaa, and in her latest song from the film she takes a clear dig at the Rekha-Amitabh pair, and even imitates the two legendary actors! In the fun song titled Savaa Dollar, Rani breaks into Laavani and dances to a whole lot of filmi clichés. Interestingly, besides the Amitabh and Rekha dig, Rani also pokes fun at her soon-to-be father-in-law Yash Chopra’s hit film Chandni.

We agree that the idea probably was to pay tribute to the silver screen pair, but considering that Rani doesn’t really get along with the Bachchans, this not a great idea!

We all know that Rani fell out with the Bachchans after Rani and Abhishek ended their off-screen romance. It was also said that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was present on the sets of Laaga Chunari Mein Daag to see that Abhishek wouldn’t get too cosy with his ex Rani with whom he was making the film! The rivalry continued and Rani wasn’t invited to the Abhi–Ash wedding. Guess the rivalry continues… this time with the help of a cheeky number!
