A filmmaker friend offered the Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi actor a part in his project, but Shiney refused the role
Ever since Shiney Ahuja was released on bail for alleged rape last year, he’s been sending out feelers for work to friends and acquaintances in B-town. He also spoke to a lot of news channels and magazines about the aftermath of the controversy.
But wethinks the Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi actor’s murky past isn’t ready to let go of him just yet. We haven’t heard of any film being offered to him, and he has turned down the one role he was offered a while ago.
Filmmaker Anurag Basu, one of Shiney’s few friends in B-town who supported him through his troubles and believed he was innocent all along, offered the actor a role in Barfi. But the Delhi born and brought up dude turned down the part in Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra-Ileana D’Cruz-starrer. Reason? One, Shiney was offered only a cameo in the sweet romantic comedy. Two, being sidelined in film starring rising superstar Ranbir didn’t go down too well with the actor known for his mood-swings and starry tantrums in his not-so-long-ago heyday. But if insiders are to be believed, Shiney’s refusal hasn’t affected his friendship with Basu. Everything is roses and peaches between the filmmaker and actor, or so they say.
All we can say, is let’s hope Shiney’s optimism pays off!
