The proud parents – along with the rest of the family, of course, has finally decided on a name for the infant. Word is that it will be announced soon after Amitabh Bachchan gets out of hospital. We – like all of you – have been waiting impatiently to know just what the newest little Bachchan will be called…

For all those who have been waiting with bated breath for Beti B’s name to be revealed, the final countdown has begun. Rumour mills have been working overtime speculating the most probable name for the most watched baby in B-town. And now birdies gathering from all over showbiz chirp insistently that Beti B has been named! As we all expected, the name begins with ‘A’, confirmation comes in. So, is it Aaliya or Abhilasha, the hot favourites? Or perhaps something else completely? Papa Abhishek says it’s not Aaliya, for sure, and adds, “We’ve got a name, and I’ll announce it very soon. We don’t believe in any ceremony in terms of naamkaran.” Hmmm, if no grand ceremony of sorts is to happen, then what are the Bachchans waiting for?

Buzz is that they will be making the big announcement as soon as grandpa Amitabh Bachchan hops out of his hospital bed and arrives back home to get set do the honours. After all, grandpa B, who broke the news of Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy and the arrival of the baby will also be the one to announce the name. So, that leaves us with a few more speculative moments, no? So we continue to do just that: speculate. And as for pictures of the child, Abhishek has this to say: “If people see her in everyday life, that’s fine by me, but I just think releasing the photograph is a very pompous thing to do.” Sigh. So that is another thing to wait and watch out for. But the baby’s name will make for a shorter wait. But with Aaliya definitely out of the list, do you think ‘Abhilasha’ will take the cake? Guess only time and Big B’s recovery will tell.
