Does Abhishek have time for Shaad’s film?

Apparently the Jhoom Barabar Jhoom director is ready to start his next film with Bachchan Jr, but does the star’s schedule allow for any more than he is already doing?

Rumour has it that Jhoom Barabar Jhoom director Shaad Ali is ready to make a film with his actor friend Abhishek Bachchan. And this one will be backed by Yash Raj Films. Make no mistake, apparently this project has been on Shaad’s mind for a while now and we keep hearing stories of it happening…not happening…happening… – you know how it goes! Perhaps discouraged by the fate of their last film together (JBJ), the new film has been put on (and occasionally taken off) the back burner. But that is set to change. Should we thank the music video – Go Meera go – featuring Big B and Jr B and directed by Shaad? Maybe. Ali, who went back to assisting Mani Ratnam for Raavan, is back on the scene, but does Abhishek have time for him? The young Bachchan’s diary is chock-a-block with films – Rohit Shetty’s Bol Bachchan, Players, Dhoom 3, Ladies v/s Gentleman, and one each with R Balki and Rohan Sippy. In fact, it was Jr B’s busy schedule that delayed Rajkumar Santoshi’s Ladies v/s Gentlemen, which will now start shooting in February next year, by which time wifey Aishwarya should have regained her once-slim shape. So, the point is, how does Abhi have the time? And frankly, wethinks Shaad should take a break from this buddy-bonding thing. After all, even though Bunty Aur Babli was a runaway hit, the less said the better about JBJ, if we are being tactful. We know loyalty pays, but perhaps it’s time Shaad finds another actor to save his career.
