Ek Thi Naayika promo: Emraan Hashmi and Smriti Irani gear up to tell ‘daayan’ stories

And joining them in this scary endeavour will be Sakshi Tanwar, Shweta Tiwari, Ankita Lokhande, Kritika Kamra, Mouni Roy and Aamna Sharif

Ekta Kapoor has enthusiastically taken up the initiative of creating awareness about the negative energies spread in this world by evil witches aka daayans. Her upcoming movie Ek Thi Daayan does ask – and loudly – whether those ladies travelling on broomsticks are real or just a figment of someone’s dark imagination. But our small screen wizard, Madam Balaji decided that just a big screen wonder wasn’t enough.

So, as a prelude to this film, eight stories spanning 16 episodes will be aired on the show Ek Thi Naayika on Life OK at 11 pm from March 9. And these 16 episodes will feature small screen divas like Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar, Shweta Tiwari, Ankita Lokhande, Kritika Kamra, Mouni Roy and Aamna Sharif. Reason to hide under the blanket? Perhaps.

But before you take refuge, take a look at what the show is all about. According to the promos – where Smriti Irani speaks with an eerily halting voice – you will see the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’s favourite bahu and Emraan Hashmi promising to tell you eight stories, which will help you decide whether we share our worlds with the witches or no. Interesting, we say.

Also, birdies who have been keeping a close watch on the spooky developments of this show chirp that there has been a tiny swap in the project. Smriti Irani, who was supposed to play a nautch girl (gasp!) in the series has exchanged her role with that of Sakshi Tanwar. So now, you will have your beloved Priya Sharma from Bade Acche Lagte Hain dancing and prancing around like a courtesan.

Thank God, we say. ‘Coz the other shocks and frights that the show apparently holds might have paled in front of dear Smriti dancing as a courtesan. Hai na? So far, so good.

Coming back to the spooky quotient, take a look at these promos and tell us if they give you goose bumps. They did to us, swear!
