According to IT officials, the Shootout At Wadala co-producer has misreported the income and profits of her production house
Ever since the Income Tax department came into existence, Bollywood and its denizens have been its soft target. IT officials have been keeping an eagle eye on them for defaulting on taxes and right from Kishore Kumar to Amitabh Bachchan, every successful celebrity has come under the IT scanner over income tax evasion.
Similarly, producer Ekta Kapoor, Jeetendra and Tusshar Kapoor’s homes and Balaji Telefilms’ offices were raided by the IT department early on Tuesday morning for allegedly defaulting on taxes. We hear more than 100 officers stormed into Ms Kapoor’s homes and offices premises… And the department says that the TV czarina owes them Rs 30 crores.
We also learn that she is being investigated for misreporting the income and profits of her production house. We only hope that the IT officers were genuine and not bogus like Neeraj Pandey’s Special 26! Jokes apart, we wish the highly superstitious Ekta sorts out all the legal mess to enjoy the success of Shootout At Wadala which has released today.
