After toting guns in Jannat 2, the Bhatt camp star actor will put on the magician’s cloak
Jannat 2 actor Emraan Hashmi plays a delusional magician in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Ek Thi Daayan. The film’s script is written by Aparna Sen’s ex-husband and Konkona Sen Sharma’s father, journalist Mukul Sharma. The story is based on his experience with occultism.
Coming back to Emraan, we discovered that the actor will go through intensive training to realistically portray the role of a magician. So Bhardwaj is planning to get a genius in the business of magic to teach his hero some tricks of the trade. In the past, many actors have trained in different skills for professional reasons. To name a few – Hrithik Roshan learned magic tricks for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish, Aamir Khan took swimming lessons for Reema Kagti’s Talaash and Akshay Kumar trained in Parkour for his cola commercials.
However, Emraan’s preparation for the ETD role just doesn’t stop at performing magical tricks onscreen. His character is slightly crazy in the head. Our informant reveals, “His character can ‘see things’. We don’t know till the end if his visions are real or imagined. Emraan has to understand the psyche of a delusional man before he can convincingly play a man who sees things that others can’t.”
What we can see is that if Emraan continues enchanting his fans with interesting roles, he will surely cast a spell on the box-office too.
