The first trailer of this movie was scary. But take a peek into this gallery and you’ll know how our B-towners managed to turn spookier

The launch event of Ek Thi Daayan revolved around powder-white faces and long plaits. But no, it had nothing to do with the beautification of women, mind you. Instead, the ladies here put on their make-up, not to mesmerise the audience but to spook them.

So what gives? We had Emraan Hashmi dressed in black see-through T-shirt that made him look a devilishly sensuous even. Along with him were the glamourised witches – Kalki Koechlin, Konkona Sen Sharma and Huma Qureshi – flaunting their Rapunzel-like hairdo. But before you start oohhing and aahhing over their thick plaits, know that the evil power of a witch is contained in the folds of her mane. Sounds eerie? Sure it does!

And to make matters creepier, the faces of these women were caked with white powder. Perhaps, not much ‘whitener’ was used for Kalki for…errr…obvious reasons. But one can’t deny the hard work that must’ve gone into making these babes look like the perfect daayans. Right? And wethinks the toil indeed paid off.

And others who were present (and even spooked, maybe) at the event filled with evil energies and tricks were Ekta Kapoor, Vishal Bhardwaj, director Kannan Iyer, creative producer Abhishek Chaubey and Anurag Kashyap (who paid a surprise visit and appeared surprised by what his wife Kalki was up to).

What’s more, the bus that took the guests to the venue – Film City, Mumbai – was called ‘Bus To Hell’. Whoa! Guess no spooky stone was left unturned for this one.

So take a look at this creepy gallery and tell us – are you scared, yet?
