The duo received accolades for their performance in The Dirty Picture. And cashing in on their current popularity is director Rajkumar Gupta, who is trying hard to convince Vidya to do his next film
After adding hit films like Aamir and No One Killed Jessica to his resume, director Rajkumar Gupta has decided to shun the serious genre for his next. He has chosen to make a light-hearted film titled Ghanchakkar with Emraan Hashmi in the lead. But the director is still looking for a female lead and Vidya Balan remains at the top of his list. And why not, the two have worked together in NOKJ before and have become good friends since then. It would be interesting to see what the duo comes up with this time around. At first we wondered why this talented director who is used to working with powerful performers chose Hashmi, but then we realised that Emraan is a bankable star and has just tasted box office success with The Dirty Picture. Well, Emraan seems to be mighty pleased with the script and is singing its praises already. We hear that Emraan’s role will be the selling point of the movie as he hasn’t dome something like this before. What we are excited though is the chance to see Emraan and Vidya share screen space a second time. But will Vidya give her nod to a film that is centered around Hashmi? We eagerly wait and watch!

Who writes this stuff? Emraan has ‘tasted box office success’ with TDP? What about Gangster, Jannat, Murder 2, OUATIM? They were all big hits! The director isn’t after him because of TDP, he’s after him because he’s actually built a good filmography over the last few years. Give credit where crdit is due. Hope to see Emraan/Vidya again though, on that we can most definitely agree on!
