Watch the cute first look of the Chandni actor’s comeback film
It has been 15 years since Sridevi’s last big screen appearance in Judaai. We have been eagerly waiting for her to make a comeback to films, and were delighted when we first heard about English Vinglish. Directed by Gauri Shinde (R Balki’s wife), the first look reminded us of Sridevi’s award-winning performance in the Kamal Haasan-starrer Sadma. She is probably one of the rare actors – like Mohanlal – who can act with their back towards the camera, conveying every emotion perfect for the situation. Though the first look doesn’t reveal much about what to expect from English Vinglish, we liked its quirky sense of humour. The film also stars French actor Mehdi Nebbou and Adil Hussain, along with Amitabh Bachchan, who is doing a cameo. Buzz is that English Vinglish will be released simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Sri’s husband Boney Kapoor isn’t a part of this project, just as he wasn’t involved with his son Arjun Kapoor’s debut film.
