Esha Gupta to play the role of Kiran Bedi in Prakash Jha’s next?

The Jannat 2 debutant has put away her vanity case to play the role of an IPS officer

Esha Gupta, who sizzled on the big screen in her debut movie, Jannat 2 is all to don a de-glam avatar. And that’s because Esha will play the role of a female cop in Prakash Jha’s forthcoming film, Chakravyuh. “I am playing an IPS officer and you will see me in uniform,” Esha says in an interview.

But what, one might wonder, made Prakash Jha choose pretty Esha for such a role? Apparently it was the lady’s command over Hindi that helped her bag the role. “When I met Prakash Jha, he was really impressed with my Hindi and that I was confident about what I was doing. The first time when I met him, I said, ‘If you direct me well, I will give you what you want for the character. I am ready to be moulded in any form that you want, I am just like clay right now’,” Esha said.

What’s more, Esha believes that her role in this political thriller is inspired by retired IPS officer Kiran Bedi, who created a stir in the male-dominated arena. Other actors roped in for the movie are Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol and Manoj Bajpayee.

But will Esha Gupta be able to justice to the role of a no-nonsense police officer? What do you think, Bollywoodlifers?
