Whoa! Does that mean the Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi actor thinks she is a better actor than the original tapori of B-town?
While Farah Khan maintains that it was a nightmare to act for Bela Sehgal’s Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, she also accepts, humbly that is, that she’s a natural. “Lot of people who have seen me are saying ‘I am a natural’, which I think is a big compliment,” Farah confesses.
Hmmm, but quiz her about the maximum number takes to her credit and she says, “I am not a trained actor. Trained method actors like Anil Kapoor and others okay the shot in the 20th take but for me just one or two takes would be enough. So I used to say please don’t take more takes. But Bela’s method was such that they had to take shots from different angles. So initially it was very difficult as after a while it used to get mechanical.” Oh! Guess FK is not really undermining Anil Kapoor’s acting skills, but just saying that she is different from the usual method actors, right?
Point taken Farahji! But wouldn’t it save many directors lots of time if you dish out some ready-in-two-takes kinda acting tips to the method actors of B-town? What say readers?
