Cool urban boyz Imran Khan and Farhan Akhtar take the plunge into a new avatar as small town sods in their upcoming films – Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. As the two grab a whiff of the rural life in their respective movies, we decode their stubble statements in absolute Bollywoodlife ishtyle

When we first heard that Imran Khan was offered a role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s MKBKM, we wondered if he would be able to pull off the character of a rustic village dude. But after seeing him carry his moustache and bushy beard combo with great élan, looks like everything – from his character to his style – might dovetail seamlessly once the film releases.

We had a similar opinion about Farhan Akhtar. Accustomed to seeing him frolicking around in his clean-shaven look onscreen, it was hard to digest him in the role of veteran athlete Milkha Singh. But as Akhtar’s first look picture released, we must admit that the smooth-shaven sweetie convinced us that he could step into the shoes of a rugged sportsman…with a great amount of hard work, of course. That thick beard and vigorously worked upon muscles make Farhan’s character look very believable. And we shouldn’t overlook the fact that the actor, along with growing a beard, has been sweating it out at the stadium to give that much needed boost to his running skills.
