Watch the new song from part 2 of Anurag Kashyap’s gritty revenge drama

Though the hype around Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 has been diluted by the strong buzz around Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, the makers are trying to reclaim lost ground by releasing the new song. We aren’t sure how effective this one will prove to be for the gangsters from the hinterlands, but here it is – Taar bijlee se patle, just for you, dear Bollywoodlifers.

The song, interspersed with countless gunshots, is a catchy rural folk tune with a naughty undertone. Penned by debut lyric writer Varun Grover and composed by Sneha Khanwalkar, Taar bijlee… has been sung by Rasika D Rani. If the video is anything to go by, GOW 2 will be a cinematic romp. The crackling chemistry between the lead pair – Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Qureshi – is sparkling. We are eager to see how Mr Kashyap concludes this revenge drama when it releases early next month.
