Happy Birthday, Dimple Kapadia!

The timeless beauty reaches another milestone in her life, turning 54 on June 8

With Raj Kapoor’s Bobby, she launched a million sighs and she continues to impress the audience each time she makes an appearance on screen. Though we think she should not be doing motherly roles like her recent outings in Dabangg, Patiala House, Luck By Chance, Being Cyrus and Tum Milo Toh Sahi. Dimple is one of the few actors of her time who still continues to do films and surprisingly her career has outlasted that of her daughters’ – an achievement in itself. Her role in Sagar continues to inspire the new generation of actors and her filmography will continue to evoke envy. She has played the entire gamut of characters, glamorous ones as well as powerful ones in Khamosh, Prahaar and Krantiveer, even doing the elusive double role in Mukul Anand’s Insaaf with Vinod Khanna. Wethinks she also did a great job as a beautiful ghost in Gulzar’s Lekin! Who else can boast of a range this wide, especially if you are an actor in Bollywood, way past your prime. She has not only won the hearts of millions of fans, but also won many awards including popular and a National Award for her stellar performance in Rudaali. On her birthday we wish her more success and even more challenging roles in the years to come.
