Has Ajay Devgn inked a five-film deal with STAR network?

The channel is in the process of buying the satellite rights of the actor’s next five films

It seems Ajay Devgn is going the Salman Khan way! If a popular trade weekly report is to be believed, Ajay Devgn has signed a deal with STAR network for his next five films. As per the contract, the channel has bagged the exclusive satellite rights to broadcast the upcoming five films featuring Devgn – which may include Himmatwala among others.

Ajay’s last two Rs 100 crore films Son Of Sardaar and Bol Bachchan, which premiered on Star’s entertainment channel Star Gold, had fetched the highest and the second highest ratings (TVR) respectively. Buzz is that the success of these movies on the tube prompted the channel to consider broadcasting the actor’s future movies too. “An official announcement will be made soon. Besides that I cannot comment on anything,” said Ajay’s spokesperson.

Remember, there was news about Salman signing a similar deal with Star Gold for Rs 500 crores which stated that the channel had the exclusive rights to broadcast all the films featuring Salman for the next five years? Wonder at what price Ajay has signed this deal. We are still awaiting confirmation from the channel though.
