This week, Dharma Productions Hasee Toh Phasee will hit the theatres. The romantic comedy starring Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra has generated great buzz and looks promising. But will this jodi charm the audience? Will Karan Johar’s latest offering rock the box office? Read on to find out…
Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra have teamed up for the first time for director Vinil Mathew’s Hasee Toh Phasee. Co-produced by Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap, this rom-com has indeed caught attention of the audience coz of its peppy music. Also, the fresh pairing of Pari and Sid has been liked at least in the trailers and songs released so far. As far as promoting the film is concerned, the makers and the lead pair of Hasee Toh Phasee have gone all out to market their romcom. But is this enough to ensure box office success? Since the Parineeti-Sidharth starrer is high on music, it will certainly be an advantage for the film. And there is no denying the fact that Ms Chopra and the Student Of The Year dude are extremely talented. So chances are that Hasee Toh Phasee will fare well at the BO.
Ace astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi says KJo and Kashyap’s production venture will surely appeal to the youth. He predicts, “The year 2014 which adds up to Number 7 (Ketu) is likely to prove lucky for most. Number 1, 2, 4 and 7 people, places, dates, names etc. and the film’s release date – 7thFebruary (7) along with the title vibration (46) will only work in its favour.”
“More importantly, the leading pair of Sidharth Malhotra (16th January 1985) and Parineeti Chopra (22nd October 1988) both fall in to this bracket directly. No prizes for guessing their chemistry will come in for much praise and appreciation from all quarters” adds Sangghvi.
Last week, Abhay Deol and Preeti Desai starrer One By Two failed to charm the audience which could help boast the prospect of Hasee Toh Phasee at the box office. However, HTP is not a solo release. Heartless, Ya Rab and Babloo Happy Hai are also set to release on February 7. But there has been no buzz around these films and none of them stars a well-known face which puts KJo and Kashyap’s production venture right at the front in the numbers game.
