While most films fail to rake in moolah on a weekday, Surveen and Jay’s debut film seems to have passed the ‘Monday’ test
Vishal Pandya’s directorial venture Hate Story 2 starring Surveen Chawla, Jay Bhanushali and Sushant Singh has managed to pull in crowds to the theaters. The film released on Friday (July 18) and ended up collecting Rs 5.46 crore nett which is an impressive figure. The sequel of Hate Story fared well over the weekend as well bringing its three day total to Rs 15.85 crore nett at the Indian box office. However, what’s commendable is the fact that the revenge drama did well on Monday too. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter, “#Hate Story2 Fri 5.46 cr, Sat 4.74 cr, Sun 5.65 cr, Mon 2.68 cr. Total – 18.53 cr nett. India biz. ROCK-STEADY.” Vir Das starrer Amit Ki Sahni Ki List and Pizza 3D also released on the same day but Hate Story 2 raced ahead in the numbers game.
Now that the film is going steady at the ticket windows, we are sure celebrations are underway for Surveen, Jay, Sushant and the whole team.
