Jr Shroff certainly seems to have impressed the audience with his action avatar and that’s the reason his debut film has got cash registers jingling wethinks
Sajid Nadiawala’s production venture Heropanti starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles hit the theaters on Friday (May 23). And though it wasn’t a solo release, the film witnessed a good opening at the ticket windows. On the day of release, Tiger’s action drama went on to collect Rs 6.63 crore which is mighty impressive considering South superstar Rajinikanth’s film Kochadaiiyaan hit the screens on the very same day. The scenario was pretty much the same on day 2 as well as Heropanti managed to collect Rs 6.42 crore. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter, “#Heropanti Fri – 6.63 cr, Sat 6.42 cr. Total: – 13.05 nett. India biz. Biz expected to jump today [Sun].” That’s not all. Jackie Shroff’s ladla beta has one more reason to be happy. His first film has managed to attract movie goers to the cinema halls overseas too. “#Heropanti has a super start in UAE+GCC. Thu AED 261,000, Fri AED 420,000. Total: AED 681,000 [₹ 1.08 cr],” wrote Adarsh.
According to Boxofficeindia, “Heropanti had a good first day as it collected around 6.50-6.75 crore nett on its first day. The collections were the fifth highest for an opening day for 2014. The film put up some very strong numbers in mass circuits. Rajasthan was best as it collected a huge 58 lakhs nett which is the third highest opening day of 2014 in that circuit.”
Well, we are sure the lead pair of Heropanti must be overwhelmed with the response their film has garnered so far but producer Sajid Nadiawala must be on cloud nine. We say so coz this year three films made under his prodtcun banner have performed well – Highway, 2 States and now Heropanti. Certainly calls for a party, hai na?
