Holiday box office collection: Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha’s action drama collects Rs 49.34 crore!

Akki and Sona’s latest offering seems to have impressed the audience big time. We say so coz their film has managed to create hungama at the box office and how. But will Holiday enter the Rs 100 crore club? Pretty soon wethinks…

Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty is Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha’s fourth outing together. The duo earlier starred in Rowdy Rathore, Joker and Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobaara. While Khiladi Kumar and Sonakshi’s rowdy avatar got cash registers jingling, the other two films failed to create the same impact. However, this jodi has once again struck gold at the box office with their latest film Holiday directed by AR Murugadoss. The action drama hit the theaters on Friday (June 6) and raked in Rs 12.18 crore. Saturday collections were no different but the numbers escalated on Sunday and Holiday ended up grossing Rs 41.32 crore in the opening weekend. The film fared well on Monday as well. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter, “#Holiday Fri 12.18 cr, Sat 12.34 cr, Sun 16.80 cr, Mon 8.02 cr. Total – 49.34 cr nett. India biz. All set for an impressive 65 cr Week 1.”

According to Boxofficeindia, “Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty had a good Monday grossing 7.50-7.75 crore nett and taking its four day business to 46.50 crore nett. The week should finish around 64-66 crore nett depending on the falls on the rest of the weekdays. It is the second highest Monday of the year after Jai Ho which grossed around Rs 9 crore nett.”

Last week, Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon’s debut film Heropanti passed the Rs 50 crore mark and now Holiday will follow suit wethinks. So don’t be surprised if you hear about Akshay and Sonakshi’s success party in the coming days.Subscribe to me on YouTube
