How will Ram-Leela singers pay back Sanjay Leela Bhansali?

Ram chahe Leela, Ang laga de and several other songs from SLB’s latest film have become quite popular. But what price did the singers have to pay? Read on to know more

A little birdie tells us that singers who lent their voice to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela had signed a contract to pay the price of their success. We’ve heard of actors signing a contract to share their profits if a film is hit. This time around, Ram-Leela singers have signed a contract to share their profits with Bhansali for a year. The story goes like this – SLB picked Bhoomi Trivedi, Aditi Paul and Osman Bir from reality shows and the singers have gained fame ‘coz of their songs in Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh starrer Ram-Leela. So considering that SLB gave them a break, we hear that they had agreed to share 25 percent of their income with Bhansali’s production house!

Aditi Paul, who lent her voice for the sensuous number Ang laga de says, “Yes, I am under a contract to share my earnings, mostly from live shows, with Sanjay sir’s production house. The arrangement is valid for a year.” Though she didn’t give the exact number that she will be sharing, she’s quite grateful to the director. She says, “Mr Bhansali has given us a break. So we don’t really have a problem with this arrangement. Whatever offers I’m getting today is a direct result of that one hit song. So why shouldn’t he take his cut?”

Well, it’s rightly said that success comes with a price, hai na? Though Bhansali hasn’t confirmed his share, in this case, the singers are paying a price quite literally!
