After Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan, it’s Hrithik’s turn to campaign for a state
Looks like tourism in India benefits a lot from our B-town stars. We’ve all seen Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Prachi Desai and Aamir Khan promoting Gujrat, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and India, respectively. And now is the turn of our B-town hunk to enter the club.
The Agneepath actor has been chosen by the Government of Maharashtra to promote his home state. But buzz suggests that the dude of Bollywood wasn’t the first choice for this campaign. It was Madhuri Dixit-Nene, who quoted a whopping Rs 9 crore as remuneration for the cause and turned down the offer after being offered less than the quoted sum.
The government then decided to approach Hrithik Roshan. This time, thankfully, the agency responsible for the promotions wasn’t in for a shock, as Hrithik agreed to do it for a price cheaper than what Madhuri had quoted. While discussions are still on, reports suggest that the agency is planning to shoot a docu-film in Kolhapur, Raigad, Mahabaleshwar and Mumbai. But all that only once Hrithik manages to find some time from the shooting his upcoming sequel to Krissh. And we hope that happens soon, ‘coz it would be super-fun to watch apna B-town hunk journeying through Maharashtra wearing Kolhapuri chappals and tucking in to the desi burger aka vada-pav. Right, readers? Wink, wink.
