Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s second film together Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is already inching towards Rs 50 crore mark. Shashank Khaitan’s directorial venture which released last week has already raked in Rs 33.74 crore nett at the domestic box office. After witnessing a good start on day 1, the film went on fare exceptionally well over the weekend. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter, “#HSKD surpasses ALL expectations and has a FANTABULOUS Sunday: Fri 9.02 cr, Sat 11.25 cr, Sun 13.46 cr. Total – 33.74 cr nett. India biz.” But what’s even more interesting is that Alia-Varun starrer has done well oversees too. “#Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania has witnessed ample growth in key markets such as USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Sat better than Fri”, tweeted Adarsh.

According to Boxofficeindia, “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania had a good first weekend as it grossed 33.50 crore nett approx in its first weekend. North India was excellent as Delhi/UP grossed nearly 8 crore nett and East Punjab was a huge 4 crore nett. The Sunday figures will be in the 13.50 crore nett region after grossing 20 crore nett plus in the first two days.”

On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh’s Ek Villain continued its golden run at the box even in its third weekend. Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#EkVillain Weekend 3 – 2.05 cr. Grand total – 103.37 cr nett. India biz. BLOCKBUSTER.”
