Though Humshakals failed to impress the critics, it has managed to pull in crowds to the theatres. And that’s the only reason wethinks why this film is going rocky steady at the BO
Sajid Khan’s latest directorial venture Humshakals starring Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor, Tammannaah Bhatia, Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu has surprisingly fared well at the box office. The film has already grossed Rs 76 crore nett worldwide and is still holding strong at the ticket windows. Now that’s impressive coz the Saif-Riteish starrer was thrashed by most critics and later became the butt of jokes on social networking sites. But it seems that hasn’t really affected its collections, hai na? At the domestic box office, Sajid’s film has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark and we won’t be surprised if it soon enters the Rs 100 crore club. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter, “Humshakals Fri 12.50 cr, Sat 12.59 cr, Sun 15.04 cr, Mon 5.10 cr, Tue 4.25 cr, Wed 3.75 cr. Total: ₹ 53.23 cr nett. India biz.”
After Himmatwala debacle, Farah Khan’s brother desperately needed a hit. With Humshakals soaring at the box office, we are pretty sure Sajid is one happy man!
