Ill-health or divahood: What is the real reason behind Pratyusha Banerjee’s exit from Balika Vadhu?
While news reports suggest that Pratyusha’s starry behaviour caused her ouster, the channel maintains that she had been skipping too many shoots and had to be replaced. We tell you the real story…
Yesterday we told you that Pratyusha Banerjee, who portrayed the role of Anandi in Balika Vadhu on Colors, is leaving the popular show. And yes, it came as a rude shock not only to us, but also to her co-stars.
Shashank Vyas, who plays the character of Jagya in BV, started his career with Pratyusha. The actor was completely unaware that his first television co-star was no longer a part of the show. “I just got back from Bangkok yesterday. As soon as I landed, calls from reporters and friends poured in asking me about this. Frankly, I was shocked, so I called up Pratyusha to ask her and she confirmed it. She said that she was leaving the show for some personal reasons,” he said. Anandi’s new husband Shiv played by Siddharth Shukla was also taken aback with this sudden decision. He said, “Pratyusha told us about her decision just day before yesterday. We didn’t get any prior notice really.”
According to the channel PB exited the show because she was constantly unwell and hence couldn’t make it on time for the shoots. In an interview though, Pratyusha had said that her mother was unwell and she wanted to spend more time with her. Now those are two different versions, aren’t they?
Anyway, we also heard rumours that Pratz was always late for shoots and sometimes made unbelievable excuses for her absence. Shashank refused to comment on that though. “I don’t know the real reason, but it’s her personal issue and I don’t think I have a right to comment on it,” he said.
Gajra Kottary – writer of Balika Vadhu, maintains that whatever the reason, it was a mutual decision at the end. “It was a mutual decision made by the production house and the actor. Pratyusha was unable to commit too much time for the show and hence we had to replace her.”

Dont feel like watching the show as Pratyusha is being replaced. Cannot accept Toral as Anandi as she doesnt have that childish look that Pratyusha has.She is looking older even than Gehna. Cannot aceept this.I used to wait for this show everyday that now I don’t feel like watching.
Sorry to say this. Please bring back Pratyusha for this show as only she can only be our favourite bahu always.

NEVER THOUGHT OF HATING MY FAVORITE SHOW.. BUT THE PRODUCTION HOUSE MADE ME DO THAT!! GOD! TORAL AS ANANDI LOOKS OLDER EVEN GEHNA LOOKS YOUNGER THAN THE NEW ANANDI!!

Please save us the misery!! Just bring our original anandi back on the show.. we appreciated the serial so much for raising such causes.. it was not just a serial but a true lessen teaching series. We loved to watch. But after original anandi’s exit, it seems so fake and irritating to watch it any further!
PLEASE BRING PRATYUSHA BACK ON THE SHOW.. PLEASE!

pratyusha is best to that character i seen yesterdays episode we r not satisfy on that new girl plzz.. Replace her again then new one looking gud but pratyusha was most beautyful and she is the right person to play that anandhi role no one replace her acting.so please replace Toral immediately and get back Pratyusha.so am wait again pratyusha benarjee in this serial balika vadhu,please call me 9702766219

Pratyusha is the only reason for watching Balika Vadhu.
New face of Anandi i.e Toral is just untolerable and disgusting. please replace Toral immediately and get back Pratyusha.

I am the one who voted Prats for grown up Anandi, I can’t bear any other actress for a single second as grown up Anandi… Whatever the reason behind leaving the show its her life and decession, stop defaming her. How loyal she was with this show we can imagine she left dance reality show, and Bhat camp’s offer and now stupid PH giving lame excuses… PH + Channel compelled her for this decession…
Now I don’t have any sympathy with BV or the stars… For me show is just in drain :(

Hi, I’m from Serbia and I just want to say that I’m not gonna watch the show anymore, this is crazy!! People here watch it because of Prats, and they are very disappointed and angry now. You watch Prats for years and than they just replace her??
You people said Prats couldn’t fulfill her duties! Well she isn’t a robot to work whole day, she has a soul too!!

Without Prats as Anandi there is no point to watch BV, since we love her and nobody can replace her.

I’m watching Balika Vadhu since the very beginning, I live in Serbia and this show is very popular here. People who watch it do so because of Prats and they can’t imagine other girl in her place. If she doesn’t come back, Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are no more going to buy episodes, the reason being that there is no use watching the show without Prats, she’s irreplaceable. We beg you to fulfill our wish so we could watch the whole story.

Viewers from Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia beg you to get Prats back so we can continue watching the show. Without her there’s no Balika Vadhu. Please, if you don’t do that, out TV stations are not going to buy episodes with this new actress, because no one is interested in watching her.
