In spite of garnering critical acclaim and good reviews, Sudhir Mishra’s tale of sexual harassment at workplace has failed to make its mark at the ticket counters and managed to collect only Rs 3.4 crore over the weekend
Sadly, Sudhir Mishra’s latest release Inkaar, starring Arjun Rampal and Chitrangda Singh, has failed to impress the audience. Going by the weekend collections, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the movie has turned out to be a damn squib at the box office. It has barely managed to rake in approximately Rs 16.3 million (Rs 1.65 crores) net on its opening day, despite good promotions. The major business was seen in multiplexes in metropolitan cities like Mumbai and Delhi, with a very poor performance in mass-oriented circuits in the interior regions.
Starting off on a poor note, the movie surprisingly showed absolutely no growth on its second day making about just Rs 1.75 crores. So the earnings of the first two days have been merely Rs 3.40 crores. And it seems highly unlikely that the Sunday figures, if any better, will be able to make up for the weekend collections.
Inkaar has only one week left before Abbas-Mustan’s Race 2 hits the theatres, and will most probably eat into the second week collections of the film.
