If you think that the gentleman’s game is detrimental to the box office business, you are mistaken. In fact, the IPL season is now seen as a massive medium for stars to promote their forthcoming releases

Gone are the days when the so-called Indian Premier League (IPL) monster would give our filmi folks a run for their starry bucks. Today cricket and films can co-exist even as the world’s biggest cricketainment unfolds with some thrilling actions on the field and off it. In fact, the IPL is these days seen as a big PR drive through which B-town stars promote their upcoming releases. Stars are seen shaking a leg and doing some much needed pelvic thrusts at the matches to make sure that their movies get promoted at the cricketing extravaganza that are followed by millions across India and the world.

The sixth edition of the IPL saw the presence of none other than Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan. The trio turned up at the magnificent Eden Gardens in Kolkata to support their favourite team – Delhi Daredevils. The stars were of course promoting their upcoming gangster flick Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again. Even John Abraham and Anil Kapoor were showcasing their star power and endorsing their next release, Shootout At Wadala through IPL 2013. The duo will be seen shaking their booties to Farah Khan’s signature dance number Jhampak jhapak which has been specially crafted for this glitzy tournament.

We think it just can’t get any better than this for fans who love to have their fair share of both – cricket and films – at the same time. Now that’s what we called a complete cricketaining package!
