The stars will shine bright at the Pune Warriors-Kings XI Punjab match this Sunday with Bollywood babes shaking their well-shaped booties
The IPL is taking over parts of Bollywood, never mind that stars like Shahrukh Khan say it will eat into movie viewership, even as arch-rival Salman Khan begs to differ with that one. After a glam-bam opening ceremony in Chennai recently, sprinkled with stardust from the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan, Prabhudeva et al, Pune will be treated to a healthy dose of glitzy-blitz as the first match played by the Pune Warriors, this one against Kings XI Punjab on April 8, is preceded by a show choreographed by Ganesh Hegde and starring Priyanka, Neha Dhupia, Preity Zinta, Jacqueline Fernandez and Bipasha Basu.
And this one promises to be ‘zara hatke’. Adding a generous helping of Indian culture and tradition – all Bollywood ishtyle, we are sure – PC will do a lavani, while Preity will reprise her Bhumbro (Kashmiri folk dance – as seen in Mission Kashmir with Hrithik Roshan), Neha will dance Rajasthani folk, Bipasha’s act will have a Bengal-flavoured tadke, Dia Mirza’s act to ‘Adab arz hai’ will be Sufi-tinged, Prachi Desai will do a Gujarati garba, Jacquie will bring in some Punjabi song and dance and sexy Sameera Reddy will bring in a touch of her own South Indian heritage. The cheerladies will add their bit with a mélange of dance styles, all allegedly authentic Indian. With costumes designed by Neeta Lulla and with Hegde’s well-known jhatkas and matkas, this is one evening we are not sure we are ready to be part of!
